on Turning 30

So this year I turned 30 and there were actually quite a few things that I was hoping to have done before it and I figured well, it’s ok, maybe next one. But in the last month’s life as taken a turn and all these goods came pouring.

We found a house, it’s tiny but perfect and I just can’t wait for all the amazing memories we are going to create here.
One of those memories came in the shape of a cat called Autumn, she is the most precious thing.

This year we also went to THU, and while the previous one felt like the end of a cycle for me, this one feels like the start of a new one.

I got to hang around and meet many artists, but there were a few that blew me away with how kind and welcoming they were and I came home reenergized to work and get better. I even had the chance to play Commander with other artists like Evyn Fong, Jasper Ejsing and Mike Jordana, how cool is that? Yes, I got crushed in every single one but at least I had fun.

And just today, I woke up with the news that my first mtg card has been released. Of all the ones that I’ve painted in the last 1.5years, this was the most meaningful of them all, and not because it’s a goblin, maybe a bit. But mostly because of all that is hidden within that painting. Jasper Ejsing (outstanding artist and kind soul) once said to have fun and tell a story that will help you to push through the painting thus making it fun from start to finish. And this one has many stories which I might tell you over some drinks, who knows.

Oh I’m excited for what the future brings.
